Weekend in Ojai

This past weekend, we took another road trip down south. This time, the destination was Ojai where our friends Brett and Jacki live.  John and Brett were roommates in San Diego for a period of time and have been good friends ever since.  Brett and Jackie married last year, and now live in beautiful Ojai. 

We had a wonderful weekend hanging out with them.  On Saturday, they took us to the Ojai Tennis and Swim Club.  This has inspired me to join a similar type of place up here in San Jose.  Every summer, I dream of building a pool in our backyard,  but joining a club would be way cheaper, plus, they have tons of social activities for everyone, kids and adults!  

On Sunday, we stopped off at Brett's family's beach house where John and Brett did some paddleboarding while Ella and I hung out with Jacki and Jeanie (Brett's mom).  Then, we were on the road again back to San Jose.  Ella didn't tolerate the ride back so much, so we will probably hold off on lengthy road trips for awhile.  Thanks Brett and Jacki for a wonderful weekend!
