5 Months Today!

Ella is 5 months old today and she is a talker!  Sometimes, she can babble and make this drawn out ahhhh sound for minutes!  She especially does the ahhhhh sound when tired and ready for a nap.   Grandma Carolyn pointed out recently that when she is ready to nap, she does not want to be talked to, nor does she want adult conversation taking place in her presence.  She likes her silence!


She is also:
an expert roller - has been since 4 months
almost sitting up - puts her hands out to support and can hold in this position for about a minute
making steps towards crawling - while on the tummy, she will push up almost onto her knees
can put her feet in her mouth.  I am amazed by her flexibility


When she wakes up in the morning, she seems to be able to entertain herself for a bit.  So, when I go to get her out of her co-sleeper, she has these wide awake eyes that stare up at me, followed by a huge smile.  She just loves the mornings.  I place her in bed between John and I and she darts her little head back at forth, so she can see us both.  It is adorable!
