The Big Toddler

So as a one-year-old, I have come to terms with the fact that Ella is now in the toddler category. I don't care that she is no longer an "official baby" because she will always be my baby!  I feel like she has changed overnight into such an alert little girl!

This are some highlights of what she can do!

Walk!
Yes, she has been cruising for awhile, but she now can walk all by herself.  Her maximum distance  in 6-7 steps.  We make a huge deal out of it, clapping and cheering, and let me tell you, she gets the biggest smile across her face!  With her big smile, she looks from one witness to the other, and beams with pride!

Big Hugs!
She grabs on really tight and gives the best hugs these days!  She is so affectionate an loving!

Feeding Herself (huge mess involved)
She has been eating finger foods for awhile, but lately, we have stepped it up with items that tend to be a bit more messy and harder to contain, such as brown rice.  The dogs are the perfect vacuum cleaners.

Pointing
Ella points at everything these days and wants us to discuss and name all the objects she points at.  She knows what most of the things are that she is pointing out.  If we reverse it, and ask her, for example, "Where is Mac, or where is the balloon", she proceeds to turn her head and point at it!  The pointing takes place all day long, whether we are heading down the hallway where she points out all the people in the pictures, or if we are reading a book, in which she flips the pages back an forth to point out her favorite items.  She is quite the communicator!

A future singer!
She loves to imitate and repeat sounds.  I will say da da da da in a rythmic patter, and she repeats me trying to mimic my tone.

Currently, Ella is the official owner of 7 teeth!
