This past week, we headed to Catalina to spend some quality time with Grammy Charlotte and Grampy Jim. I must admit, I was a tad nervous about the drive down south, but Ella was quite the trooper. What an excellent little traveler she is! We actually made it to San Clemente in 6 1/2 hours! She slept most of the time, and seemed to enjoy the ride.
Our first stop was at Brian and Francesca's house in San Clemente. It was a quick visit, but so great to spend some time with them and their adorable children Sophia and Noah. Sophia loved tending to baby Ella! She is such a doll and little Noah is an angel baby! We love the Rodger's family and wished we lived closer!
After a refreshing night's sleep, we caught the ferry to Catalina, where we met up with Mom and Jim. We spend two wonderful days with them relaxing and eating great food. Grammy Charlotte babysat Ella the first night so John and I could have a little date night out. Ella spent a lot of time talking to her grandparents. She has been making sounds for quite awhile, but the talking, in which she is attempting to have a conversation, started about a week ago. Catalina is such a charming little town and the weather was perfect! We look forward to the next Catalina weekend with them!
Sunday morning, we caught the ferry back to Dana Point. We took a lovely drive up PCH to Corona del Mar, where we met up with Carrie and JJ for lunch. We had a great couple hours catching up and chatting. I was able to get a bunch of great pics of them holding Ella. We miss our dear friends and wish we could see them all the time! It was a quick but wondeful visit!
The last leg of the trip took us up to Ojai, where we spend the night with Brett and Jackie in their beautiful new home. John was their realtor in the deal but had never had the chance to see the house, so it was great to check it out! The pics don't do it justice; it is absolutely stunning!!! I can't believe I forgot to take pics!
The next morning, We headed to Brett's beach house where John and Brett did some paddleboarding and Ella got to meet Jeanie, Brett's mom Then, we hit the road, and headed back to San Jose. By this point, Ella was over the driving, and cried for about an hour of the drive home, but we made it!
