Welcome to the Family Grady James Scott Stinson!
Our precious son Grady James Scott Stinson, entered this world on January 25, 2012 at 9:40 am! He was only 36 weeks and 6 days when born via c-section due to my placenta previa, but still weighed in at 7 pounds 3 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long.
He is a strong little guy but still needs some help with his lung development, so he has been in the NICU since Wednesday. I know it is what has to be done, but am still sad that he can't be in the room with me, where I can snuggle and cuddle him whenever I want. He is completely stable but just needs a bit more time and help. I'm still in the hospital as I want to stay with him as long as possible and because recovery from a c-section is not going quite as I planned. I have what they call a spinal headache, in which a small tear occurred during the spinal injection which is causing cerebral fluid in my brain to leak out into my body. It can be quite painful and will hopefully pass, if not, they will have to inject blood into my spine to solve the problem.
We are not sure how many more days Grady will have to spend in the NICU, and as of right now, it looks like I will be leaving before he does. I really wish he could come home with us, and it breaks my heart that we have to leave without him. We are hoping it will only be a matter of a couple of days, but could possibly be longer. The nurses and doctors in the NICU are taking very good care of him so we know he is in good hands.
He looks a lot like daddy I must say! He has very dark brown hair, and daddy's nose for sure! He seems to have more hair on his head than Ella did when she was born. Ella got to meet him yesterday, 1/27, for the first time. She touched him gently on his head and kept saying hug. She also called him baby and can almost say Grady! She will be such a great big sister!
