Ella is learning and developing new skills at an amazingly fast rate these days! It seems like every day, there is a new discovery she wants to work on. This past week, she started feeding herself about 90% of her dinner. I cut up veggies, meat, and brown rice pasta, throw it all in a bowl that suctions to her tray, and away she goes. She eats most of it, that is, whatever doesn't fall to the floor or is hand-fed to Mac. Mac loves when Ella eats; it's a second dinner for him.
I am amazed at how many pictures and objects she can identify. Here are a few of her favorites that she likes to point out (in books and her surrounding environment):
balloon, kitty cat, raisins, Mac, Bailey, dadda, flowers, smootie,
Ella now drinks a mini-smoothie with Mamma and Dadda every morning. She absolutely loves in and gulps it down. Other new foods she is enjoying include egg whites, raisins, and prune juice!
Independent walking has officially started! She had been cruising for several months now, but this week, was the first real week where that was characterized by real independent walking. She can take about 8-10 steps now all by herself! Way to go big girl!
