As a big 9 1/2 month old, Ella has become quite the expert at asserting her independence. Whether it is playtime, mealtime, or conversation time, she knows she is quite capable of doing things herself! Independent playtime now consists of banging on he musical toys, hugging and kissing Violet, clapping her hands together, and putting anything and everything in her mouth.
For the last couple of weeks, we have been playing chase, crawling of course! It is so cute; I start by saying I'm going to get you, and she starts to crawl as fast as she can while squealing with excitement. Every now and then, she will stop, sit, and turn around to see how close I am to catching her! This can go on for quite awhile! She finds it extremely entertaining and so does mommy!
Bath time has also become more independent as she has mastered balance while sitting up. This makes mommy a lot less nervous. Pig Duck has been left in the dust, and all the new bath toys she received for Christmas have now become the new hot items during bath time. I feel sorry for Pig Duck, but figure once the novelty of the new toys wears off, she will find it in her heart to love him again! Her favorite thing is to grab onto the floating balls, and to sit with them tightly so they don't move. It's interesting. She would stay like this during the entire bath time if I didn't take them away and distract her with her other toys.
Her voice is almost as loud as mine!
