This week is Ella's 9th week of life. She is really growing into to such a curious little explorer. She recently discovered her hands and is sucking on them every chance she gets. She hasn't quite figured out the thumb yet, but instead prefers to shove her entire fist into her mouth. Of course, it doesn't exactly fit, but that doesn't stop her from trying. I have a strong prediction that she will be left handed as she seems to gravitate more towards that hand. She also started opening up her left hand about a week before her right hand.
In addition to hand exploration, Ella can't keep her eyes off of her surroundings. Whether it is a light on the ceiling, or a colorful painting, she is entranced. Her little eyes dart around in every direction as she starts to explore the vast world around her. Last night, we were in Jake's room (Brian and Denise's son), and she would not take her eyes off of his beach mural that Denise painted. She fixated on it for a good 5 minutes.
Here is a pic of the fist in the mouth!
