1st Week of Summer Vacation

I have completely neglected this blog over the past 3 months! The more time that passed, the harder it was to post updates. So instead of trying to catch up on the last 3 months, I will simply start with the past week, which was my first week of summer vacation. I told myself that the kids and I were going to have an action packed summer; no sitting around the house and letting time pass away without adventures.

The first week of vacation looked like this:

Thursday: we hit up the Children's Discovery Museum with Grammy. They had the Curious George Exhibits that the kids really liked. Grady, who is now an expert walker, was a bit overwhelmed by the crowds, but did find his own rhythm once there forms bit.  Ella was so mature and cooperative making for a great day!

Friday: Ella had her first day of full day preschool. She got to take a nap with her friends which she talked about prior with great enthusiasm. Teachers reported that she had a great day, was really nice to her friends, and stayed on her cot during nap time.  She was very cranky, however, that evening so I'm guessing that maybe she didn't really nap due to her excitement level.  Grady got to spend the whole day with mommy all by himself! Poor guy hasn't had much of these days since he was really little. When I told him we were going to pick up sister around 4:30 he screamed and cried! He didn't want our day to end!

Saturday: Grady had a sleepover at grandma and grandpa's house while mommy and Ella had a sleepover at Grammy and Grampy's. we went to the Monterey bay aquarium but Ella didn't seemed to enthused by it. We will try again when she gets older.

Sunday: Father's Day dinner with Grandma and Granpa!

Tuesday: Jack Fischer Park excursion! Grady loved the water.  Ella also, had her first gymnastics class that afternoon. At first, she was begging to go home, and by the end of class, she was begging to do a second one!

Thursday:  A trip to pescadero! I can't believe how beautiful the Northern California coast is! It has been awhile! We first went to the goat farm, grabbed some fresh goat cheese, and fed the baby goats hay. Then, we hit up Phillps Farm for an afternoon of berry picking, tractor climbing, animal gazing, donkey feeding, and a picnicM it was absolutely fabulous! We left with fresh berries, beans, and chicken and goose eggs straight from the farm!

It was an action packed first week!
