2 1/2 years old!

October 21, 2012
Ella is 2 1/2 today and has made so many big girl changes in the last month! She now pee pees on the potty about 7 times a day and can even pull her training pants up and down! She is still
holding on to the number 2s; I hear that can happen to some kids due to a separation   anxiety  in which they don't like the feeling off the number 2 dropping.

She has also been sleeping in her big girl bed for about a month now and is doing a pretty good job. We do have night where she calls us back with excuses such as I need my book, or I don't want my pillow so can you move it, but for the most past she will stay in bed and read for 30 minutes or so then conk out! We are very proud of her!

She is quite the character.  Here a few of her sayings/doings:

Caulou:  A show that she loves but is no longer aloud to watch.  She loves the main character Caulou and would mimic his actions.  So one day, Caulou pinched his baby sister Rosey.  Ella decided to try this out a preschool that day on a few classmates!  Ever since that day we told Ella that Caulou went on vacation and was not coming back any time soon!  No more pinching has occurred!

After a potty session right before bedtime, Ella wanted her jelly bean.  I told her she could have it in the morning because the jelly beans were sleeping (her teeth had just been brushed).  She said to me,  with annoyance in her voice, "The jelly beans are not sleeping", as if what a ridiculous thing to say mom.  It was the tone in her voice that made me realize she thought it was so ridiculous because jelly beans are not living therefore they don't sleep!

She loves to say, "You are not a good singer", whenever I try to sing.  She can get really argumentative about it if you tell her otherwise.

She is a little teaser and loves to say wrong answers on purpose!  She is quite smart and you really can't trick her without quite a bit of effort.

She is stubborn and will argue with you until you drop it.  She is certain that she is 100 percent right all of the time!

The other morning I cried because I was overly tired.  I realized she had never really seen my cry as a toddler that can process emotion.  She gave me a big tight hug and said, "Mommy, I can hold you"! Although sassy at times, she is really the sweetest, most sensitive little being!
